Upasampada Sheelaya

A Buddhist monk’s ‘career’ is divided into two stages. The first stage is samanera the novice monkhood. When a monk completes his novice period he will be entitled to enter the upasampada stage. A novice monk has ten precepts to follow whereas an upasampada monk has to follow 224 precepts. The Upasampada Sheelaya discusses the way of living for the Upasampada monk.
